The Essie Flowerista collection (Spring 2015) is one of my favorite collections ever! I was very happy when I saw that the teal color from that collection, Garden Variety, was on sale! I didn’t have to think twice and it came home with me.
Essie created this Spring collection together with Rebecca Minkoff. Before this collection, I only bought Essie nail polish when they were on sale. But after that Spring collection I was completely hooked on Essie nail polishes and I still am. I already own many Essie polishes but I’m still adding them to my collection. But I have a good excuse, since most polishes are very unique.
Just a little heads-up before you look at the swatch pictures: Somehow Garden Variety looks very blue in all of the pictures. I also looked at other pictures that I found online and they are all too blue. I think Garden Variety is just one of those colors that are impossible to capture. So keep in mind: Garden Variety is much greener and not as dusty, but quite bright! The pictures with the palm trees show the color the best, but it is still nothing like the color in real life.
The formula of Garden Variety is perfection! I’m wearing 2 coats on the pictures and the shine is incredible. The color is very unique and brighter than the pictures show. I expected to have some dupes, but every color I have is more blue or green.
I’m really glad I bought it! You can still buy it on Amazon here (affiliate link).
