I’m (temporarily) back with some more ILNP swatches. I really went through an ILNP kick last year, and as a result, I still have one billion swatches to share with you. These are all older swatches, as I’m still working through my own huge backlog. Looking at these pictures, I do feel inspired to again to create new comparisons and be creative, but let’s see how it turns out, as I’m also very busy at the moment.
These ILNP swatches are all quite randomly chosen. I do feel like going back to a more structured approach, but it is also fun to just enjoy some random colors in my collection.
ILNP Hallucinate

This is ILNP Hallucinate, it was released as part of ILNP’s ‘Trapped’ Halloween 2022 collection. I believe most ILNP polishes I own were originally released as part of Halloween collections. Their Halloween collections are simply iconic! Next to Hallucinate, I also own Poison (a blood-red magnetic) and I’m trying to get my hands on Venom (a dark moss green magnetic) from the same ‘Trapped’ collection.
Hallucinate has an indigo jelly base with gold-to-red shimmer. It really looks magical and definitely did not disappoint. I’m wearing three coats in the picture, and I feel like you really need that amount of coats to really make the shimmer stand out.
ILNP Birthday suit

Birthday suit was a huge surprise to me. I doubted a lot whether I should buy this polish, since I do not often reach for these lighter nude shades. However, I ended up liking it that much that I wore it for my PhD defense last year!
Birthday suit is officially a jelly, but it builts up really well in three coats. It’s definitely a shade that I will pull out more often if I want to have a ‘clean’ look.
ILNP Rainshower

ILNP Rainshower just completely blew my mind. It’s a light blue jelly packed with iridescent shimmer. It’s so incredibly gorgeous!
I’m wearing three coats here in the picture, and it is still a bit translucent. However, that is part of the charm of this shade in my opinion.
ILNP Black Magic

Black magic comes from another halloween collection from ILNP called ‘Haunted’. If I remember correctly it was the halloween collection for 2021.
Black magic is a black, linear holo and it is again absolutely stunning. It is opaque in two to three coats.

I own quite some black holos, so of course I wanted to do a comparison to see how they compare to ILNP Black Magic. ILNP Cityscape is the most popular ILNP black holographic. It has a black jelly base and has scattered holographic glitter, while black magic has a linear finish. Cityscape’s base is also a lot more black than black magic. Black magic almost leans grey compared to Cityscape.
Holo taco Electrostatic is probably the closest thing that I own to Black magic. The base of Electrostatic is a bit darker than black magic, but I feel like the holo was a bit more prominent in Black magic.
Finally, I also still own ILNP Party Bus. Party bus has another jelly base that leans a lot darker than Black magic’s base. The glitter in Party bus is also a scattered holographic flake, and is even sparser than Cityscape’s glitter.
Do you need all? In my opinion, no, but I think ILNP Black magic definitely is one of the nicer ones!
ILNP Deep Space

Last but not least, I’m ending this post with Deep Space. Deep Space is genuinely one of the nicest shades in my collection. It is a magnetic holographic polish. Once magnetized, the base is black with holographic particles that seem to sparkle like stars. The magnetized particles are green/turqoise, but under an angle, the particles shift to pink/purple. It is just absolutely gorgeous!
The only downside of this polish is that I had to use three coats. On the first two coats, the jelly base will turn translucent when the polish is magnetized. In my opinion, it’s not really a problem, though.
Conclusion
Overall, I think these shades are really fun. There is not one shade in this post that was a disappointment or major letdown in my opinion and I can see why these are fan favorites (Deep Space is actually in ILNP’s current top 10 of most sold shades). They are all unique and worth trying, as long as they fit your personal style.
