So I am a bit late with swatches of Essie Sunny Business! I am very sorry, but luckily this color should still be available though! The reason why I have swatched Sunny Business so late is a long story. After waiting for two months after its release in the US, there was still no sign of Sunny Business here in the Netherlands. I was able to get my hands on Suits you swell (swatches here), which is also part of the Sunny Business collection. There was, however, still no sign of the two polishes I wanted the most, Seas the day and Sunny Business. Suddenly, I think somewhere in late August, I spotted Sunny Business at my local drugstore, somewhere crammed away at the wrong shelf. I was shocked, because I already found peace with the fact that I would never own this polish. So I didn’t buy it! I think somewhere halfway September, I also spotted it online, and I figured out it would be now or never. I was lucky and was able to pick up Seas the day too! I think within a week after I ordered them these shades were sold out basically everywhere (over here in the Netherlands, not in the US). Read further to find out what I thought of Sunny Business!
Sunny Business is one of the eyecatchers of the Sunny Business summer 2020 collection. First of all, it is a light yellow and I think yellows are always the eyecatchers of collections, and second, it has kind of the same shimmer as Essie’s winter 2020 collection.
The only downside I can think of is that it is a bit sheer. In the pictures I am wearing three coats, but I have also tried wearing it with four coats, and I still see my nail line. I had to get used to this, and after I while I did not care anymore, but at first I did not like it at all. If you don’t like it I recommend wearing this shade over a yellow shade, like Summer Soul-stice. I’ve also briefly tried this, and I definitely like it. Funnily enough, when I look at my pictures you can barely see that this polish is not completely opaque, so I think the shimmer n the polish just makes it less noticeable!
I am definitely going to enjoy this shade in Spring again, although I also enjoyed wearing it for Fall/Winter. I know that I would have just enjoyed it even more this summer, so I am still kind of sad that it wasn’t here early enough, but well! It is not the end of the world! You can still find Essie Sunny Business over here on Amazon (affiliate link). I definitely think it is a unique polish.

It is okay, I do like the little shimmer!
Yes, that’s exactly why I like this polish
