In my ‘Most popular…’ post series I’m swatching the shades again that were repinned the most often on my Pinterest that season. Despite that this post is called most popular posts of Summer 2024, I’m always noticing that people are pinning for the coming season, so this will pretty much tell you what will become popular for Fall 2024.
I think this time, we have a pretty interesting mix of shimmers, cremes and duochromes. I have the feeling that if you wanted to create a capsule nail polish collection this fall, you can pretty much pick up these five polishes and you would be done.
5. OPI Coastal Sand-tuary
OPI Coastal sand-tuary has been part of this top five before during summer 2023. It’s the perfect pale ivory color that’s just perfect for the end of summer.
I’m wearing three coats in the picture. It doesn’t have the easiest formula, but it’s still relatively OK to work with for such a light shade.
4. Essie Peppermint condition
Essie Peppermint condition was also featured in this series before (for Fall 2023). On the one hand, I’m surprised that this shade gets repinned so often because I’m pretty sure that Essie discontinued this shade immediately after its release in 2020. On the other hand, this shade is pretty unique with its green base and gold shimmer, which does complement each other pretty well.
In the picture, I’m wearing three coats and you can clearly see that it is still a bit patchy and see through.
3. OPI Espresso your inner self
OPI Espresso your inner self was also extremely popular during fall last year. I’m definitely not surprised to see it popping back up again. To be honest, Espresso your inner self is the perfect milk chocolate brown color with a perfect formula! With this shade, you are definitely on trend for fall!

2. OPI Pixel dust
This is debut of OPI Pixel dust in this series. It was often very close to becoming a part of this series, but it never made it that far until now! OPI Pixel dust is a really unique polish, and it’s really close to my heart! It consists of pink metallic flakes in a pink jelly base. It’s not like any of the other OPI polishes that I have ever tried. Compared to other metallic polishes, Pixel dust is super reflective.
I’m wearing two coats in this picture, but next time I would definitely use three coats since it was not completely opaque.
1. Essie Tropic Low
Essie Tropic low was by far the winner of this season’s edition. It was repinned 10 times more than Pixel dust. It’s quite funny, because the last time Tropic low was featured was during Winter 2022/2023. The reason for this sudden increase of popularity is likely the release of Chanel Reveuse, which is very similar to Essie Tropic low. I’m not sure if Tropic low is still easy to find, but it’s definitely much cheaper than Chanel Reveuse.
I’m wearing two coats in the picture, but I probably should have worn three as it is still not completely opaque.
Conclusion
A pretty fun variety of shades, if you ask me! I find it interesting that the brown trend still seems to be going strong, and I’m wondering how long it will still last. Personally, I’m very happy to see the increased interest in shimmer nail polish.
