[Gifted] Modelones is a premium home manicure brand that has been around since its establishment in 2015. Modelones ultimate mission is to ensure that everyone can enjoy home manicures. I’ve been lucky enough to test one of their Color cubes with solid gel polish before, and I was really impressed.
Modelones stole the spotlight at the prestigious Prime Life High Fashion Experience Day in the enchanting city of Paris organized by Amazon. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of Modelones’ Paris-themed limited edition gift box, the Prime Gala Collection. Although I was not able to attend the event, Modelones kindly sent me their Limited Edition Gift box to review here!
What does the set consist of?
The aim of the collection box is to capture the essence of Parisian elegance, offering a captivating nail art experience that harmonizes with the city’s natural charm.
The collection box contains six color gel polishes, and a gel base and top coat. The colors are really developed for this collection box and are not for sale individually (as far as I’m aware).
The colors Sunny splash (a warm yellow), Garden Fiesta (a bright turquoise), Dynamic lime (neon yellow), Starry Soiree (pastel lilac), and Flamenco Fling (bright pink) are all cremes, while Avocado Whip is a white with a subtle shimmer. The packaging claims that Avocado Whip can be used as a top coat over the other colors. I haven’t tried it yet, but my feeling is that it might be too opaque for that (but I will report back!).
Of course I also had to try and swatch the shades. What I immediately noticed in that the formulas are a bit thicker than regular nail polish, but it’s not as thick as some other gel polishes that I’ve tried. For that reason, the shades are really easy to work with. My favorite from the collection is definitely Starry Soiree which I’m still wearing on my toes. I was also really surprised by Dynamic lime since it is a great neon yellow with a really nice formula (neon yellows are notoriously tricky).
The box also comes with its own LED-Curing light. It’s a really nice and compact light and I really appreciate that it comes with the box, because you can really just buy this box and do your own gel nails, even if you have no further tools at all.
The box comes with some other Paris-themed goodies, such as three fridge magnets, ear clips, a stickers, a scented-back and nail file.
Final Verdict
It was my first time trying Modelones’ regular gel nail polish. I’m positively surprised since I think the box is very complete and comes with a nice set of colors for summer. With other gel polish brands I’ve often had that I experienced shrinkage, which made it look like I was already wearing my polish for weeks, but it’s something that I did not have with Modelones. With other brands, I’ve also been really concerned that they might contain HEMA, which might cause severe allergic reactions, but Modelones clearly states that their polish is HEMA-free which is a huge relieve.
Overall, I would really recommend this box if you’re looking for a complete starter set to do your own manicures at home. Next to this, I think the color selection is also really amazing for summer!
