Hello everyone, I hope you all have a nice day! If you are following me on Instagram you might have seen that I ordered one (!) polish from OPI’s new Muse of Milan collection. I originally had more colors in my basket. But.. I decided to put them back and try one first. My pick was Leonardo’s model color, which is, in my opinion, the star of the collection.
You know how some polishes just look amazing in pictures and are very underwhelming in real life? This one is exactly the opposite. When I opened the package I was surprised with this gorgeous color.
Leonardo’s model color has a sheer dark blue base. It is filled with purple and copper shimmer. Because the base is a bit sheer, I personally think three coats gives the best effect. The shimmer really pops in the sheerness of the base! Because of the copper shimmer this polish almost has some duochrome qualities. Surprisingly, from a little distance it is almost like this polish shifts from purple to pink, but if you look closer you see this is effect is caused by the copper flakies.
The finish of the polish immediately reminded me of Zoya or Kiko cosmetics, but I couldn’t find any polishes that are exact dupes or are even close to this polish.
In the swatches I have used Orly Bonder as a basecoat and OPI Plumping Volumizing topcoat (affiliate link to Amazon). You can also wear it without topcoat, the polish is completely smooth, but it will be less shiney. As you can see, I picked the regular nail lacquer and not the more expensive Infinite Shine version. As far as I could tell, both versions looked exactly the same. This polish is definitely amazing if you are, like me, a lover of purple shimmers. It is not too dark, and it sparkles really pretty.
