So I am not going to lie.. I have been a little bit distracted by all the collections that Essie is releasing. The more I inspect the collections that Essie has released the past half year, the more I am starting to love the Flying Solo collection and the Sunny Business collection. The color combinations are just great for this time of year (you can find the collections over here and here).
I’ve already shown you Flying Solo itself from the Flying solo collection. Two more polishes were on my wishlist: One way for one and You do blue. I was lucky and I was able to pick up One way for one with a little discount. Although I definitely do not need nail polish anymore, I could not pass upon this opportunity. Unfortunately I was still not able to get my hands on you do blue!
One way for one is definitely a unique color in my (large) collection. It is a cool pink with a gold pearl shimmer. It definitely reminds me of Nars Orgasm. The polish also reminds me of Zoya, and in particular of Zoya Happi (affiliate link to Amazon). Even after all those years I still get excited about the pink gold combination. This is enhanced by the fact that I’ve never seen such a shade from Essie before. I feel like Essie has been focussing on cremes mostly and only started to focus on shimmers since 2018.
Application was perfect, it covered perfectly in two coats. Because of the shimmer you still get streaks. A couple of years back this would have annoyed me, however I am now completely cool with it. It’s just part of this particular finish, but it’s good to keep in mind since not everyone likes this.
If you’re into this kind of shade I would definitely recommend picking it up. In Europe I have bought this polish on Zalando, but it is also available on Amazon over here (affiliate link). I hope I can get a ton of use out of it this summer!
