No matter how busy I am, the most popular post nail polish colors of the season is a most post that I never want to miss. In this series I always revisit the five most-repinned shades of the previous season. So far, it has always been a very fun journey, and it’s a good excuse for me to re-wear some shades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Essie Swoon in the lagoon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Although Essie’s Swoon in the lagoon has been released for quite some time now, it made it first appearance in the most popular post series in my previous post about winter 2024 colors<\/a>. Swoon in the lagoon is a magenta creme, that leans a bit more purple than your average magenta. I’m myself also completely in love with this shade, so I completely understand that Pinterest-users repinned it so often!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swoon in the lagoon is super easy to apply, so you are looking at two coats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. OPI Surf naked<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

OPI Surf naked also made it’s debut in the previous post.<\/a> Surf naked was released as part of OPI’s Summer make the rules collection for summer 2023. I was a bit surprised to see Surf Naked already here, because usually nail polish colors on Pinterest take quite a while to gain traction. This probably tells you a lot about how well loved this color really is. Surf Naked is a light blue polish with a pearly shimmer. It dries with a bit of brush strokes, but I forgive the shade because it’s just really cute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had to do three coats to get rid of any darker patches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. OPI 7th and flower<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

OPI 7th and the flower suddenly popped up in the most popular colors post of summer 2023<\/a>, it went away for a while, but it’s made a comeback for spring 2024. The color is very similar to Essie Swoon in the lagoon, since it is a magenta creme. However, 7th and the flower contains quite a bit less purple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, the formula is really nice of this one, and was opaque in two coats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. OPI Without a pout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

OPI Without a pout is a really recent OPI shade, since it was released for OPI’s Spring 2024 collection<\/a>. It made first spot in the last post, even though it was literally released in that season and competed with shades that had already been there the whole season. Anyway, I’m not surprised to see that Without a pout is here to stay. Although Without a pout is a really nice shade, it’s not the most unique shade of pink. In my original post<\/a> you can see multiple other OPI shades that are actually quite close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without a pout needed three coats to be fully opaque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Essie Clothing Optional<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Essie Clothing Optional is the only ‘new’ shade in this top five (in the way that it has never been featured in this most popular colors series). Clothing optional is quite a bit older than the other shades here since it was released in 2017. You can find my original post from 2021 over here<\/a>. Clothing Optional is quite a unique brown with a hint of pink. It’s an easy shade to wear and really office-appropriate but still special. I have the feeling that my bottle turned to a slightly less dark version over time, but I might be wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’re looking at two coats of Clothing Optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I think what we can conclude from this post is that the Barbie pink and nude trend is still going strong, since they are very well represented in this top 5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I usually make a prediction for the upcoming season at the end of this post but to be honest, I really have no clue this time and feel like we could go anywhere. I do have a hope for summer 2024 and that’s that we slightly move away from all the pinks. Don’t get me wrong, I still would like to see a pink in the top five but I feel like they are currently overrepresented. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
